To set a notification banner for new messages in Outlook on Windows 10, please do as follows:
- Open the Start menu in Windows .
- Choose Settings .
- Open the System category.
- Select Notifications and Actions .
- Notifications from apps display notifications enabled , you .
- Click Outlook under Show notifications in this app .
- Make sure notifications are enabled.
- Now make sure Show Notification Banner is enabled.

Change the display period of the notification banner
To configure how long a notification banner, such as a new email notification banner in Outlook, appears on the screen before it slides off the screen, do the following:

- Go to the Ease of Access category.
- Open Other Options .
- Under Show notifications, select Windows time to display notifications on your screen.
